Passwords are changed automatically by the CPM in the following scenarios: ■Įxpiration period – Passwords that have an expiration period assigned to them are changed at the end of the specified period. Therefore, passwords that are managed by the CPM do not need to be specified manually. The CPM generates unique and highly secure passwords using the password policy and the random password generation mechanism. These passwords can be changed manually or replaced by a new password that is randomly generated by the Central Policy Manager. I also know there is a MS Remote Desktop from the app store version 8.x which I have yet to try.Authorized users can change passwords that are stored in the Safe through the Password Vault Web Access. If I do a check for updates I don't see any updates, although a web search shows there is a 2.1.1 version on a microsoft download site (which supposedly doesn't work on mac 10.7 and later), and also some references to a 2.1.2 version which I prefer seeing the warning, and then proceeding.įYI, on my mac I am running the old "remote desktop connection", aka "microsoft remote desktop connection client for mac" version 2.1.0 (100825), which I "believe" came pre-installed on my mac laptop (either by apple or by my I can get around it, by doing something I don't really like, which is to go into RDP preferences -> security tab, and change the setting for remote computer authentication from "warn me if authentication fails" to "always connect,Įven if authentication fails".
It asks if I want to continue anyway, I click "connect" and it just keeps repeating the error and i never connect. On my Mac, prior to sierra when i was running el capitan, I used to get a warning that the host certificate could not be authenticated, click continue to connect anyway, and it worked! Now I am getting the message on the mac that seems to be slightlyĭifferent under sierra, "The certificate or associated chain is not valid". I have the same problem, but cannot be 100% sure if it was my recent upgrade from El Capitan to Sierra or the latest set of patches I applied to the Win 7 Pro host that I am trying to connect to.
